YOGA | CLASSES SPECIFICALLY FOR MEN
(beginners and newcomers)

authentic – down to earth – insightful – fun

The origin of yoga can not be precisely defined (a few thousands of years BC). Originally yoga was a secret doctrine reserved for men and it was transmitted only orally. About 400 years BC the scholar and philosopher Patanjali summarised for the first time the teachings of yoga in writing (Yoga Sutras of Patanjali). In Western culture, yoga often has the reputation that it was just for women. Even though more and more men recognize and appreciate the benefits of a regular yoga practice, yoga groups in Germany for example usually still consist of 70-80% of women.

Men’s groups develop their very own dynamics, a special energy and power that we want to use in the practice (as do to women’s workshops and groups).

Yoga is an excellent tool for more vitality, endurance and flexibility as well as relaxation and successful stress management. The muscles are stretched, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue are strengthened. Dynamic physical exercises (asanas), focused movement sequences with correct inhaling and exhaling, stretching and relaxation keep the body fit and improve one’s body functions. Selected breathing and meditation exercises foster mental serenity.
